Kiski Valley Food Bank is committed to those who are in need or at risk of hunger by not having or having enough nutritional food for three complete meals a day. As an all-volunteer and independent food bank, we work with our community organizations, churches, businesses, grocery markets and citizens to collect and distribute food each month to individuals and families in the Kiski Valley region. We also provide emergency food to those in need. As part of our mission, we also provide healthy and cost-saving recipes, nutritional information, and education including cost-saving ideas to help families live better.

Why are people hungry?
Hunger is a growing problem in the United States. Generally children, families or individuals go hungry because their monthly income does not cover basic living costs. These tough ecomomic times mixed with the high cost of housing, health care, childcare and fuel make it difficult for low-income individuals and families to have enough money to pay for proper amounts of food.
We are a streamlined and efficient organization.
Our food collection and distribution process is effective and very personalized. We maintain grateful relationships with a variety of contributing local businesses, organizations and individuals. We distribute food parcels to needy families and individuals. From pickup of contributions to distribution of food parcels our average time is only a few days.
Kiski Valley Food Bank is an independent food bank and all-volunteer nonprofit organization under Inspired Ministries, Inc. All contributions are tax deductible. Professional business persons, management and non-profit experienced persons constitute the Board of Directors' membership and staff management. Each Board and Staff member is dedicated to providing food for those in need.
